Dr.T.S.Balakrishnan studied B.Com.,(1980) and M.Com.,(1983) in Sourashtra College, Madurai. He has done M.Phil (1989) in Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai under the title of “A critical evaluation of Indian Two wheeler Industry”. He was awarded Ph.D., for thesis submitted to Madurai Kamaraj University under the title “A study of operational efficiency of Tamilnadu Electricity Board in March 1998. He has completed his M.B.A from the Alagappa University, Karaikudi in 2009. He has accomplished A.C.S. Executive programme conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in December 2015 and he is currently in the process of completing this Professional Program.

During his service period in Sourashtra College between 1984 and 2017, he worked as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship of the College. Also he acted as the Chairman of the Board of Studies and Board of Examination of Corporate Secretaryship in Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He has guided the M.B.A., & M.Phil students in the preparation of their research reports. He has attended many Seminars and Conferences at the National and International Level, conducted by different Commerce Associations of the Universities of Tamilnadu and Kerala.

Having served as the Head of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship at Sourashtra College in Madurai since 1990, he has gained invaluable insights into both the academic and administrative aspects of higher education. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has held various administrative roles including Vice Principal, Principal – in-charge and Dean –Academic in the Autonomous System of our College.

 He acted as the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Being NAAC Coordinator, he has successfully organized the NAAC team’s visit to his College in 2012. He has been working as the Principal of the K.L.N. Arts & Sciences College since September 2023.
